The Fourth-Annual Iron Fly contest was held last Saturday at the Tipsy Trout in downtown Basalt. Participants had 15 minutes to tie a fly using materials supplied to them by judges who did not lack a sense of humor. Several dozen people participated in two divisions — youth and adults. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Roaring Fork Valley Fly Fishing

Club, which uses the proceeds to help with fishing programs aimed at kids and veterans. Iron Fly is co-sponsored by the Roaring Fork Conservancy. Youth division results (surnames withheld): First place — Genevieve (11); second place — Ruthie (10); third place — Michael (13). Adult division winners: First place — Andrew Soliday; second place — randon Soucie; third place — Daniel LeMoine.
