Our family recently moved into one of the first completed homes in the Basalt Vista Affordable Housing Community. We would like to take the opportunity to express our most heartfelt appreciation for the amazing collaboration between Habitat for Humanity, the Roaring Fork School District, Pitkin County and the town of Basalt so teachers and other valley residents can secure stability through home ownership.

Additionally, we would like to publicly thank ALL the organizations that worked together to create such high-quality homes and being a prototype for energy-efficient construction and operation, 2757 Design & Build Co, Alpine Bank, Bryant Colorado, Builder’s First Source, CORE, FCI, Holy Cross Energy, REG, Connect One Design, Heyl, Roaring Fork Engineering SGM and Sunsense Solar.

Being provided the opportunity to help build and then to purchase a home has been a total blessing. Even though we were uncertain, and actually skeptical at the beginning, everything that has happened, especially the people who have helped make this dream come true is a blessing. We are so grateful  for the entire Habitat team that has helped us through every step of the process, including assisting with great financing. The wonderful construction crew that was always patient working with us to build our home, even though we knew nothing about construction. Thanks to all the great volunteers who came even without knowing who they were helping — you do change lives!

This experience has enriched our lives and connected us more as a family. We can never say thank you enough. Our happiness is as big as our gratitude!
