Sen. Bennet’s office to host ‘listening session’ in Basalt

The office of Senator Michael Bennet is holding a “listening session” at the Basalt Regional Library, 14 Midland Ave., on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., it was announced recently.

Bennet, the U.S. Senator from Colorado and candidate for president, will not be in attendance. He will be represented by Alyssa Logan, Bennet’s regional representative who “will meet one-on-one with Coloradans,” the announcement continued.

The kinds of questions that Bennet’s representative will be ready to face: “Do you need help dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs, IRS, Social Security Administration or another federal agency? Do you have a suggestion for Congress that will help your family or community?”

Those answers will be available “one-on-one with a representative from his office” during the upcoming listening session,” it was noted.

To schedule an appointment for the listening session, email and include a brief description of the issue to be addressed. Those who don’t have email access may call 970-241-6631.

“If you are already working with someone in Bennet’s office, please include that information in your email, as well,” the statement continued. “Constituents do not need to wait for listening session dates to ask for help or share opinions. Please call any Bennet office at any time for assistance.”
