Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire on June 25.
The report of a fire at an upholstery shop at 12665 Highway 82, Carbondale came in around 4 a.m. according to a press release. According to the release, firefighters found visible flames on two sides of the building upon their arrival. They were able to call the fire under control within 30 minutes and it was contained to the two sides of the building. According to the release, the fire also caused significant damage to the interior of the shop.
“The fire was in a visible location on Highway 82 very early this morning,” said Deputy Chief Allan Ingram in the release. “We were on scene within 15 minutes and able to knock the fire down quickly. Firefighters did an excellent job containing the fire to the building and preventing any spread to the nearby vegetation.”
The fire is currently being investigated by Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District, according to the release, but the cause is not believed to be suspicious. There were no injuries and no loss amount has been determined at this time.
Carbondale Fire responded with two engines, an ambulance and 10 personnel. Roaring Fork Fire Rescue, Glenwood Springs Fire Department, Carbondale Police Department, Garfield County Sheriff’s Department, Holy Cross Energy and Black Hills Energy also responded to this incident.
